No. 4: The Day of Jesus' ExecutionAnyone that gets a vacation day on Good Friday knows that Jesus was executed on Friday (died around 3:00 PM) and rose Sunday morning, after three days of death, and possibly a brief trip to Hell. Anyone with a second grade level of mathematics knows that 3:00 PM Friday to sunrise on Sunday is only 39 hours or less than two days according to those second-graders. The conclusion for many Christians is that Jesus died on Thursday, the day of preparation for the Passover. This way Jesus becomes one of the lambs sacrificially slaughtered among the thousands soon to be consumed for Passover supper. This; however, was Friday for Jews, whose Sabbath was Saturday. One can get dizzy reading some Christian "mathematicians" add up hours to make 1.5 days equal three but this is only one of the problems. Mark states that the Jesus and his disciples celebrated the Passover meal (the Last Supper), meaning that Jesus was still eating dinner when John's Gospel already has him dead and in his tomb. The conclusion here is obvious. None of the Gospel writers make a believable case for a plausible chain of events, thus demonstrating their own falsity all by themselves. As suspected, they were just making things up. Not even a miracle make these numbers true. |
