Universal Truth

The conclusions about what possibilities for truth exist fall back to only four options. The first is that the God of Israel is simply that, one God amongst many. The commandment that the Israelites should worship no other god but their God was a direct commandment to avoid all the other Gods. Who all these other Gods might be we may never know, but interested parties can explore a lot of varying religious beliefs to get an idea about who they might be.

The second possibility is that which Western culture has concluded, that there is only one God; the God of the Hebrew Scriptures. If this is the case, and we know he did not reveal himself universally to all peoples, then he must have chosen a specific group to be his beacon to all humanity. The only conclusion that follows from this is that the people that received the message were this chosen group and were meant to be this beacon. These were the Jews. Furthermore, the Prophets from these scriptures must also be correct in their assertion that the group chosen by God have failed miserably in their mission and have been punished severely for this failure. Not only have the Jews been punished but so has all of humanity because the Jews did not do the job they were contracted to do.

The third possibility is that the entire concept of a Divine creator interacting with humans on a personal level is false. The creator made the universe but plays no active role in how it has developed over time. This is the view that was held by many of America's founding fathers. This is the one theist belief system that is not ruled out by science.

The final possibility is that the entire notion of a creator comes from the imagination of a species that likes to create and cannot fathom the idea that it simply developed to its present state over a very long period of time. Based on what evidence is available the probabilities for one of these four options is one hundred percent. This leaves no room for the ridiculous notion that one God exists but somehow has a son that he sent to save all of humanity but did not reveal himself to all of that humanity. Humanity needs saving, not because of anything it did collectively, but because of the actions of one single person and somehow just believing the story to be true is all that is necessary for this salvation. Fortunately, this version is ruled out not only by all of the evidence that exists, but by both logic and common sense. Unfortunately, this version is still believed by a huge number of people because they do not care about the evidence, do not possess common sense in this area, and have had the logic of the belief system kept conveniently hidden from them by semantics, deception, and force.
